Memorial Hills Groundbreaking Ceremony
Memorial Hills, a new low income housing tax credit development located in Joplin, Missouri, held their Groundbreaking Ceremony on Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Community leaders and development partners celebrated the commencement of construction along with the rest of the community.
More than 50 community members attended the celebration, which included a brief program with remarks by Kevin Parker, President of Parker Development, Fred Osborn, President of Joplin Re-Development Corporation, Lane Roberts, Former Chief Police of Joplin Police Department, and Robert O’Brian, President of the Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce. The Honorable Mayor Michael Seibert of Joplin, Missouri was the keynote speaker of the event.
“A quality, low-income senior development is a team effort. The Missouri Housing Development Commission, city government, the Chamber of Commerce, partners and community members are all pulling the rope to make a property like this happen,” said Mayor Seibert of the combined efforts involved in providing Joplin with this incredible senior housing opportunity.
Once constructed, Memorial Hills will have 54 independent senior living units. Within the property, residents will have amenities, including a furnished community room, billiards room, fitness center, business center and walking trails.
In addition to community members and local political figures in attendance, many Joplin media groups also attended the groundbreaking. Feel free to visit the links below to read their coverage of the Memorial Hills Groundbreaking.
