FWC Welcomes 2017 Summer Interns
JES Holdings and its affiliate companies recently hired 17 new interns to begin this summer. To kick off their internship, the JES Holdings Columbia office hosted a week-long intern orientation from June 12th through June 16th.
The intern orientation began with a day full of introductions to the company and employees. This included learning about company culture, affordable housing, introductions to management and a mixer with Executives at Jina Yoo’s Asian Bistro.
The next day included tours of Columbia properties. These properties included Bethel Ridge Estates I, The Village of Bedford Walk and North Hampton Village, where the interns were given the opportunity to help clean and prepare apartment units for new residents. Their evening ended in a dinner with past interns who after their internship, joined JES Holdings full time.
The Wednesday of intern orientation focused on an intern competition. The interns were split into two teams and challenged to create marketing, leasing, construction and accounting plans for two new properties. Both teams did a great job, were both announced winners at the end of the competition and given prizes!
The following day, the interns were rewarded with a trip to St. Louis, Missouri. They went on a tour of the JES Holdings St. Louis office, The Residences at Forest Park Hotel and The Lofts at Lafayette Square. After the tours, the interns went to a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.
After a long week of education, competition and fun, the interns were given Friday off to relax. They have now begun their internships and are dispersed between offices and job sites across Missouri and Georgia.
