On June 15, the 2017 JES Holdings and affiliate companies’ summer interns and their coaches traveled to St. Louis to celebrate their hard work during intern orientation week. Here, the group had the opportunity to visit some of the JES conventional properties, as well as enjoy some well-deserved relaxation time at a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.

Every intern was assigned a JES employee as their intern coach, who accompanied them to the game. Coaches will serve as mentors throughout the summer, offering advice and answering any questions that the interns may have.

Following a brief visit to the St. Louis office, the group first traveled to the Central West End of the city to see the luxurious apartments at The Residences at Forest Park Hotel. They then made their way to The Lofts at Lafayette Square to tour the loft-style living spaces full of rustic charm and character. The interns were fascinated by the two historic properties.

“The properties in St. Louis were gorgeous,” said Amber Rosamond, Concierge Intern at The Village of Bedford Walk. “I loved seeing what the company was able to do with the refurbished, historical buildings.” Rosamond said she particularly enjoyed the modern environment of the Lofts.

After touring both properties, the group made their way to Ballpark Village, St. Louis’ dining and entertainment district adjacent to Busch Stadium, and later headed into the game. Though it may not have been the best day for the Cardinals, it was a definite win for the JES interns and their coaches, as they had the opportunity to bond and get to know each other throughout the day.

“I really enjoyed getting to see all of the different types of properties that JES has to offer as well as meeting more members of the JES team,” said Tim Slocum, Fairway Management Accounting Intern. “The whole event was awesome, and it was a great way to end intern orientation.”
